Nubian boutique hotel

The hotel looks straight out to a breathtaking view of the nile great scenery of rocky islands and palm trees

An 11-Bedroom all seasons botique hotel designed for all ages with the tendency to enjoy with friends or families, perfect for couples getaway.

It celebrates its spectacular view from a 2 level viewpoint blended into a sensitively landscaped, with a big mountain from behind.

It was made in respect to the context that it stands in, with all natural sustainable materials. To encourage mindful connection between body, soul and freedom to exist peacefully in nature. Basalt rock formations were kept in their original form to border a swimming pool designed for a blissful dip within nature. Meanwhile, red bricks were used for the many domes of the hotel, along with wood and natural paint derived from soft mud to cover the walls.

The hotel sits on a 2 level terrace (mustaba), stacking rooms on top of the other and slightly rotating rooms giving it this vernacular look. This arrangement allows for light and view to dominate in all areas as well as maintaining rooms privacy.

This angled approach to the rooms also gives each room a unique viewpoint to take in the sunset at this spectacular location. Privacy was achieved by making the rooms accessible from behind, orienting them along with the main reception - the largest domed volume - and the restaurant beneath it to enjoy Nubia’s unique and dramatic scenery, while the wellness and yoga centre were placed closest to the Nile front.

The result is a truly unique and dramatic design that celebrates the inherent energy and the architectural traditions of the Nubian culture.
